actor or poet. The Nazi invasion of Poland shatters his home city Cracow.
Under the threat of censorship, risk of imprisonment and curfews he decides
to help establish an underground theatre. At this point in life he decides
to become a priest to the dismay of the woman who loves him.

Karol, the humanist and defender of the downtrodden, worked tirelessly
in Poland as Cardinal to protect citizens from the Communist regime. As
a Pope in the face of powerful totalitarian authorities and an assassination
attempt that left him severely wounded, he contributes to the fall of
the Iron Curtain in Europe. A truly great man who served the Church and
the world in countless ways.
