The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima
Warner Brothers, 1952
Length 102 minutes
Not Rated Language English
Each year Christian pilgrams from around the globe throng to
the Portuguese town of Fatima. They come in a spirit of worship and remembrance,
back to the days of 1917 and the three children who first saw the "Miracle
of Our Lady of Fatima". These visions and miracles later changed
the tiny village into a legend.
During 1917, World War I rages across Europe, and Portugal is in the grip
of a repressive, anti-religious government. Three children encounter a
series of visions from a woman in a cloud of light who brings prophecies
and words of faith. Despite threats from government officials in the area
the young believers do not recant their experiences and they further report
that the next vision will perform a huge miracle. Over 70,000 people arrive
in Fatima and on the promised day they view the famous "Miracle of
the Sun". During this miracle many lame and blind people are cured
from their ailments and the town of Fatima will never be the same.
This amazing film about the true events of Fatima still inspires many
today, almost 90 years since the visions took place.
