A powerful dramatic performance by Sally Field as she plays the American woman and mother- Betty. An Iranian born husband convinces his wife to travel to his homeland to visit his family. She reluctantly goes on what she believes is a short trip. Soon the horrible truth about their vacation appears.  Moody, the husband, has no intention to travel back to America, ever. Betty may return, but their daughter must stay. In a hostile war-torn country, where even a small mistake can mean death, she makes a desperate attempt to escape with her child. This excellent film with the politically difficult setting and plot can relate to what is now happening in the Middle East today.
