Martin Landau stars as Abraham in this sweeping historical film of a man, his people and their faith. Here the Old Testament dramatically comes to life in this powerfully rendered production, retelling some of the most enduring stories from this sacred book. This saga begins with Abraham and his family, where the central topic is the recollection of the Creation story as passed down from generation to generation. Now the story continues with Abraham’s call from God to find the Promised Land. From these Biblical accounts the quest of a faithful people evolves with the lives of Isaac, Rebeccah, Esau, Jacob and then on to Egypt are Joseph and later Moses. In this land of the pyramids, the viewers then see the establishment of the original customs such as the Passover. As this Biblical tale culminates one of the last scenes is Moses handing the staff of Abraham to Aaron gazing upon the new land.
