Jeremiah, the famous Biblical prophet played by Patrick Dempsey, suffers immensely for relaying God’s message to the people of Jerusalem. His messages are clear but unheeded; the Judeans must return to their faith! He also warns them to submit to Babylon's King Nebuchadnezzar or the alternative will be a brutal invasion and the destruction of the Holy City. Jeremiah is not only branded as a traitor and imprisoned, but he also witnesses his fiancée murder. Later he observes his prophecy fulfilled with the ravaging and desolation of his nation’s capital Jerusalem. This screenplay is well
written with a fine cast and Dempsey gives a strong performance.
